I.C. 7° Leopardi Succursale
Istituto Comprensivo 7° Leopardi Succursale, is located near the Vesuvio, in a residential area of the very crowded town of Torre del Greco. According to the area where they live, we can say that pupils come from two topographical areas, very different either for their social, economical or cultural conditions. The areas can be distinguished as follows:- a residential area, set near the Vesuvius, provided of all facilities , but without public spaces and services;- a countryside area, which is being transformed into an urban areaThis situation leads to different educational needs and expectations towards the school as a public institution. Since September 2012, the school has changed its legal status, thus becoming an Istituto comprensivo, including some classes of the Secondary Lower School (Scuola media). The Institute comprehends 12 classes of Pre-primary school, 25 classes of Primary school and 11 classes of Lower Secondary school.The school activities, keeping in mind the multifaceted individualities which have to be respected, have always been focused on the granting of all students’ needs, being the children the centre of the teaching-learning process. Our concern in this Comenius project is deeply connected with this aspect: the building of entrepreneurship competences which could emphasize the students’ talents and which at the same time could be spent in the working society.The school is provided with a series of facilities among which, we have computer rooms, a science lab, a gym. Besides the ordinary curriculum, the school always organises extracurricular activities which go from a Drama club, to Sports activities, as well as Art and crafts, Science, ICT, Literature.
